Striking Fairy Mermaid bearing a round faceted Peridot.
Lovely detail in 926 Sterling Silver.
What does such a shape represent ? A quick search brings up Melusine from European History, from whom many royal families were said to be descended including the Plantagenets.
In Greek Myths this symbol could refer to the Sirens.
However, considering all the options I think that this lovely pendant actually represents the Balinese Goddess Putri Duyung (Putri means Princess) who is the Goddess of the Ocean, and whose tears have healing powers.
It's said that she began as the Assyrian goddess Atargatis, who left Syria, in tears after suffering in love and swam all the way to Bali.
